Just finished up a triple pet portrait. These cuties are all from one family, each with their own distinct personality. The challenge with this commission was to photograph each cat individually and show something of their uniqueness, yet making sure that all three photos worked together as a solid composition. Not as easy as it sounds. After 100+ photos, hours of photo groupings, color sketches and various corrections, the easy part was the painting. Now all that's left is to frame and enjoy.

These are just wonderful!
Hi Peggi,
I'm speechless! These portraits are amazing! When I came to your blog I thought they were photographs but they're better! You are so talented! Fantastic work!
wow I thought they were photos to until I zoomed in and then realized they were better :) Love the rich darks and how you bounce your lights around, just beautiful!
I have to say I love all your work, but, this three-some has to be my favorite. You've managed *shaking my head in wonder, to tie them all together in shapes, values and design. Absolutely stunning. Make sure and ask the owners if you might barrow it to enter in some huge competition ... sure to bring a first prize.
I thought they were photos too! Way cool.
Love your kitties Peggi, they are so life like! Excellent work!
Really nice work, Peggi. Very photo real impact.

Wonderful, Peggi, really something!
We are cat lovers and have two (a Blue Burmese and a part Rag doll) and I was absolutely staggered at this trio of work by you Peggi. They are astoundingly good and life like. I've done pets in pastel and in graphatint pencil but never watercolour. ..and I certainly wont even attempt it now after seeing this amazing work of subtle colours and nuances in the fur.
These paintings are beautifully done. You have captured the essence of these cats.
Thank you! I didn't intend on such a realistic depiction (I was planning on leaving more mystery to the background and bodies) but such is the reality of commissioned portraits. I tend to show more detail than I would for a gallery piece or exhibition. What I really enjoyed about this commission was the design challenge of putting it all together.
Beautiful cats and just beautiful painting of them.
This is just gorgeous, as is all your work..Amazing portraits....
