I can see you're going to go out there and give 'em hell. Reminds me of a Hopper. (It also reminds me, though I suppose I shouldn't say, of an obscure movie where a dissolute, old gunslinger (Lee Marvin) decides to sober up and stand down the bad guys. He's dressing for the showdown.) But I don't mean to ridicule your painting, which I think is first-rate. This is definitely a "picture that paints a thousand words". I was immediately struck by the light from the window shining on the 'hidden' face, in contrast with the 'visible' face being shrouded with the scarf. It seems that no matter which of our faces we choose to show the world, we always keep back that one little part of ourselves, don't we? But as you said, "Who is taking a bigger risk?".
